Things to do.

Summer events, courtesy of Karen Goldner:

City Utilities will host a series of introductory public meetings to inform and educate City Utilities customers about the City’s long term control plan to significantly reduce combined sewer overflow into Fort Wayne’s waterways. This 18-year plan will invest nearly $240 million in clean-water infrastructure that will eliminate up to 90% of the untreated sewage now flowing into our rivers and streams from sewers that carry both raw and storm sewage. All meetings start at 6:30 p.m.

Interested in learning more about how you can help the environment? Grassroots Green, a local non-profit, is holding its first "Need to go Green" conference at IN Tech on Saturday, June 21. The day event is 9:30-4:30 and the dinner is 6-9, featuring local foods and Dick Lugar speaking on "Energy and National Security." Citizens can get more information for registration at www.grassrootsgreen.us.

The Foellinger Theater has kicked off another great season of free and low-cost movies and concerts. Every summer I see the schedule and think "let's not miss this" but nearly every year the summer ends and I haven't made it to a single show. This year I am going to resolve......we'll see. Anyway, don't be like me: check out the schedule at http://fortwayneparks.org/

Lifetime Sports Academy, a FREE day camp for kids that teaches golf, tennis and swimming, kicks off June 9 at McMillen Park. It is structured to be highly flexible for your schedule. More details at http://fortwayneparks.org/.
